It's a work in progress...

This desal plant is a dream, but it is turning into a project. I have been researching the equipment on the net and lining up suppliers. There are many things I need to find information on, and help that I will need - I'm asking for help...

I need to come up with a name for the unit - anyone care to make a suggestion?

I live in south Florida (Palm Beach area)- there is plenty of land to the west/north for a facility to build the plant. I imagine I will be able to find an empty warehouse or citrus facility that will be available - anyone know a company and/or people that have this resource?

I know a few people in business and industry that are willing to serve on the board of the corporation, but I'll need more - I could use some suggestions for civic-minded individuals that would be willing to put some effort behind a worthy cause (email adresses would help, too)...

I'll need some contacts in the US government and United Nations, for information about the places that need water...

Even if you can't provide anything specific for this project, but have an interest in making the world a better place, please feel free to email me: Kodiakaa@gmail.com

Thanks, God bless you, and have a Blessed New Year!

Desalination with solar and wind power

What is the second most abundant resource on earth? Water.
Why are people living within walking distance of this resource dying of thirst, hunger and malnutrition? It's unfit to drink.
Why aren't we doing something about it???
I have a dream to build a solar and wind powered desalination plant on a ship or barge, and pump fresh water to shore any time the sun shines or the wind blows. The components are all commercially available and can be put together. I estimate a 20,000 gallon-per-day system can be build and located for less than $1M.
I'll need some help, of course, first with the formation of a non-profit corporation or foundation, then fundraising, government/UN assistance (for siting the unit where needed - southern Mexico?) and assembly.
Anyone care to help or offer assistance with this?
Please respond here and/or by email to Kodiakaa@gmail.com.
